You may not run a match making service as your business, but that doesn't mean you're not the unwitting sponsor of a dating service. If you haven't discovered an employee romance, just keep running your business, one is bound to pop up. Or it's quite possible that they already have but those dating relationships have been well hidden from you.
A survey conducted by Career Builder revealed just how common dating on the job really is today. The survey, which included over 8,000 employees also uncovered several other interesting facts. 1. Admit it, your business is a dating service
Employees looking for a relationship are apparently in the right place. According to the survey, 39% of workers say they have dated a coworker at least one time, while 17% admit to dating a coworker multiple times. But while nothing is guaranteed, dating at the job proves to be a good move for those looking to get married. A reported 30% state they met and married their spouse at work.
2. Your supervisors may date employee they supervise.
If you've been putting off doing sexual harassment training, you may want to go ahead and get that done. If you've that counseling your supervisors not to date employees that they are in charge of, was not necessary because it's common sense, go ahead and have that talk. The survey reveals that the majority of romantic relationships do develop between co-workers of equal rank, managers also got in on the dating action. Of those surveyed 29% stated they dated someone above them in the reporting rank. A whopping 16% said they dated the boss. Women are more likely to date the boss than men, 39 % to 21% respectively. I hope that you see the writing on the wall with potential issues when the relationship doesn't work out. (Hello sexual harassment claims.) And we're not off the hook if the relationship is happy either. (Hello complaints of favoritism.) These numbers certainly give the savvy business owner something to think about.

Also, those moral building, celebratory happy hours can also double as a speed dating session.
